When we chatted with the Awkward. star, she told us:”I would definitely be open to coming back for some sort of closure for Sam, absolutely. It would be wonderful to go back there because I kept in touch with everybody. I talked to Hilary [Burton] about a week ago.” But has she been approached to return to Tree Hill? “I’m still waiting on my contract for Avatar 4,” she jokes, “So we’ll see.”
Cathy: One Tree Hill’s final season is going to be epic! Any scoop?
Now that Chad Michael Murray is coming back, season nine is indeed going to be epic. According to Tyler Hilton, creator Mark Schwahn is going all out. “One of the reasons why I am such a fan of this last season is because Mark said that last season he thought it might be the last season, so he ended it the way fans wanted it to end,” he tells us. “This season he knows it is going to be the last season, and since he already kind of gave the fans their season last time, he said that he really wants to make this season what he wants. He said that since the show is done after this season, he has no one to impress, he can just do whatever he wants.” Mark Schwahn writing without anyone holding him back? OTH’s final season is going to be cray-cray!

Lucas Scott is coming home.
Chad Michael Murray, who has been missing in action since season six, is officially returning to One Tree Hill. CMM is the biggest cast puzzle piece yet, with Tyler Hilton and Paul Johansson also coming back for the ninth and final season. So why does Lucas return to Tree Hill?
Because his best friend needs him!
Last time we saw Lucas, he was happily driving off into the sunset with his wife, Peyton (Hilarie Burton), and their new baby, Sawyer. But he comes back to his hometown after Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) reaches out to him for help. Since it's speculated that Nathan (James Lafferty) disappears for awhile, perhaps Haley brings Lucas back to Tree Hill to help her find his brother? What better reason is there?
Also returning is everyone's favorite mom: Deb! Barbara Alyn Woods recently said in an interview that she would be coming back for OTH's final season as well. The gang's (almost) all here! We just need Burton back as Peyton, and the OTH sendoff will be complete.
Murray told E! Online last month that he would "absolutely" come back to One Tree Hill if they asked him. Thankfully, everyone came through.

Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that Chad Michael Murray has closed a deal to return during the show’s upcoming ninth and final season. He won’t, however, be accompanied by his onscreen bride Hilarie Burton (Peyton). According to sources, the actress — who is now a regular on White Collar — was not invited back.
Lucas was last seen driving off into the sunset with Peyton and their new baby Sawyer. According to The CW, Lucas returns to Tree Hill after Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) reaches out to him for help.

While we’re so excited to hear that One Tree Hill is returning for another season, the news of a missing Rebecca Minkoff bag on set left us everything but pleased! Stylish star Sophia Bush tweeted out the theft.
Sophia is obviously annoyed, and we don’t blame her! Not only did it mess up the shot, but it’s also so upsetting especially when the friendly cast is always so open with their local fans. We hope the bag turns up soon — crimes of fashion are NOT okay!

Most people will probably recognize Jana Kramer as one of the stars on the hit CW tv drama “One Tree Hill“. Besides being a talented actress, she is, also, an incredibly gifted singer just signed to Warner Music Group this past winter. Fans of “One Tree Hill” will no doubt remember her performance she gave on the show of her song “Whiskey“.
Besides all of those things I mentioned, this Michigan-born singer and actress is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet! Very bubbly, fun, and down-to-Earth! I think she’s just the kind of person that country fans will love when they get to know her.

How did your return happen? Did the show reach out to you? Or were you just camped outside of the set since season four?
Tyler Hilton: Over the years the One Tree Hill cast and crew has become a small unit. It’s really a small family and they have asked for a few years if I wanted to come back. [Last year I said], ‘If they have one more season I will definitely do it,’ and sure enough they were asked back, against all odds, so I had to comply.

As a longtime fan of One Tree Hill, I’ve been waiting years to take a trip to North Carolina, and essentially down memory lane. I wanted so badly to see the town where Nathan and Haley fell in love, over bridges, and into each others’ arms.
I wanted to see the school where “Cheerleader Brooke” became “Class President Brooke,” which led to “Successful Fashion Designer, Wife and Mother Brooke.” I wanted to experience the feeling that Lucas got every time he stepped onto the River Court.
I wanted to be in the town where Peyton cried over dead moms, lost dads, psycho stalkers, ex-best friends and boyfriends, eventually getting the guy she was meant to have all along.
Finally, this month, I traveled to North Carolina and had a true One Tree Hill experience. Though the basketball heart (and cast) of the CW drama may have long dissipated, true fans will not be disappointed by a visit to this East Coast filming location. But I’d make it quick: the final 13 episodes of Season 9 will be completed by the end of this year!

Who’s the hit man coming to One Tree Hill?

Character actor Andrew Elvis Miller will play a deadly killer in the upcoming ninth and final season of CW’s veteran soap.
Miller’s character is a Eastern European assassin with a flair for the dramatic (and, from the looks of things, rather nice teeth). Miller has previously appeared in episodes of The Sopranos, Ugly Betty and Criminal Minds.
Especially since it’s the final season, the presence of hit man on the show could mean some serious stuff is about to go down … who would you like Miller to whack?

Bush stopped to chat with The Hollywood Reporter on the blue carpet, where she dished on why fighting climate change is so important and what’s to come on the final season of One Tree Hill.
“The sort of passion comes in for me because I see everything as being so interconnected,” she explained. “I fight for the environment because we only have one planet, but I see how the environment affects poverty and how the environment affects women around the world.

TMZ: Gavin DeGraw — Concussion, Broken Nose, Black Eyes

Law enforcement tells TMZ … a dazed and confused Gavin DeGraw was struck by a cab minutes after being assaulted in NYC Sunday night.
We’re told a witness saw the cab strike the singer and called 911. When paramedics arrived, they observed facial injuries and Gavin was transported by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital.
Gavin’s rep tells TMZ the singer is being treated for multiple serious injuries — including a concussion, broken nose, black eyes, cuts and bruises.
TMZ broke the story … Gavin was attacked by multiple assailants late Sunday night. It’s unclear what motivated the attack.
The rep adds, “Police are conducting an investigation of the attack. Gavin and his family appreciate everyone’s concern at this time. We have no information yet regarding his upcoming concert dates and promotion for his new album.”

Zap2it: Singer Gavin DeGraw hospitalized after being assaulted in New York

Gavin DeGraw is in the hospital in New York after being attacked by several people late Sunday (Aug. 7).
The singer, best known for his single “I Don’t Wanna Be” (the theme song for “One Tree Hill”), has been under observation at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan since the attack, TMZ reports. There’s no word yet on what provoked the attack or the extent of his injuries.
DeGraw has been on tour this summer and was in his hometown of New York between a solo show in Scranton, Pa., on Saturday and a date with Maroon 5 and Train in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., scheduled for Tuesday.

Fans of OTH have been jerked around concerning original cast member James Lafferty and his number of episodes. Some people hear he’s only appearing in a few. We heard he’ll definitely be in more than a few. And it sounds like Pedowitz confirms our theory: “I do know it’s for multiple.” That wasn’t answer enough for us, so we pressed Paul Hewitt, head of publicity, for an exact number, which he finally gave up. “It’s actually seven [episodes].”
We guess that’s enough Nathan Scott for the final season. Oh, who are we kidding? Give us every episode or give us death! Sorry, the Diet Coke we’ve been chugging just kicked in.
Ahem.
Chad Michael Murray told us last week that he would “absolutely” come back on OTH if they asked him. Unfortunately, as of right now, that’s not happening. “At this point, he’s not coming back. We hope he’ll come back,” Pedowitz says. “We’re going to try and reexamine it as the season goes on. But at this point other original cast members may return and more cast changes and what’s going on will be talked about by Mark Schwahn at a later point.”

While at a CBS/CW event for the Television Critics Association summer TV press tour, CW President Mark Pedowitz confirmed to me that this would, indeed, be the final season of “One Tree Hill.”That, of course, had been announced back in May when the network unveiled its new season, but “One Tree Hill” has a reputation for cheating death, so I was just making sure.What was less clear back in May was how long this ninth and final season would be. The show got a 13 episode pickup, but many fans have wondered if the season could grow by a few more episodes.That’s certainly not the plan, Pedowitz said. “Today, it is 13 episodes.”It’s always possible, I suppose, that if the network feels the need to suddenly bump up “One Tree Hill,” now scheduled for a midseason bow around January or so, to earlier in the season to plug a sudden schedule hole, it’s possible the net could ask for more episodes. But the reality of filming “One Tree Hill” will wrap by November, which means its final scripts would be in a few weeks before that makes that possibility highly, highly unlikely. And again, this is just me spit-balling here. Pedowitz stood firm on the 13-episodes plan.

The good news: The therapist is an old friend, having helped Clay through his grief after Sara’s death. The bad news: Fixing this current problem might require Clay admitting himself to the loony bin.

Ashley Rickards has a request for the chef at Deluxe in downtown Wilmington: Would you mind sharing a recipe?
The actress, now starring in the quirky high school comedy “Awkward” on MTV ( 11 p.m. Tuesdays), spent about eight months in the Wilmington area a few years ago playing foster kid Sam Walker on the locally filmed drama “One Tree Hill.”
And during her stay, she fell in love with one of Deluxe’s menu items.
“I am still trying to recreate this salad that I had there,” she said last week while promoting “Awkward” at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “It was a bunch of root vegetables baked to a perfect, sort of, a little bit crunchy, a little but soft. And it had a sweet marinade but with bleu cheese on it. It was the best salad I have ever had. And I can’t find a recipe, I don’t know how to make it, and I’m about to fly back to Wilmington just to go interrogate that chef. I need to know!”
Rickards stayed at the Hilton and Riverview Suites during her stay, and spent a lot of her time off set working out while watching another popular show about young people.
