As “One Tree Hill” begins production on its ninth and final season this week, I figured now would be a good time to update our list of the CW series’ “Most Essential Episodes.”
Two years ago (Wow, has it really been that long?) I asked you, the fans, to select what you considered to be the show’s Most Essential Episodes – those episodes that best captured the essence of “One Tree Hill,” that were most key to its characters’ development and that would best help viewers who had never seen the show get a sense of what the show is all about.
The suggestions poured in, and the results were a solid set of key episodes. You can view them all here.
But now that we have two more seasons under our belt, it’s time the list got an update.
In the original survey, you all were clearly still on a high from the season six finale – you picked both installments of the season finale that said farewell to Peyton and Lucas. So to make sure that wasn’t just the afterglow talking (and to make sure those season’s choices stood the test of time as well as the early season episodes you all picked before, I’m including season six again in this update.
Your mission, choose the six episodes from the past three seasons (seasons six through eight) you deem most essential. That averages out to two per season, but feel free divvy up the votes however you want.You can choose 6 episodes all from one season if you think it’s appropriate. Keep in mind that it’s always tempting to just choose season premieres and finales, so please take a hard look at the other episodes for the gems in bewteen.
