The Park Record: Television show “One Tree Hill” shooting episode in Park City

The television show “One Tree Hill” is shooting an episode in Park City this week, with locations expected to include Main Street, the City Hall official who handled the permitting of the shoot said.

“One Tree Hill” crews have set up trailers in a parking lot close to City Park in anticipation of the filming for the CW Television Network show.

Max Paap, the city official who manages special events and film permitting, said the show will be shooting in various locations in Park City until Friday. The trailers close to City Park are the show’s base during the filming.

Paap said approximately 50 cast members or members of the crew are in Park City.

According to Paap, the episode’s plot centers on a character in the show having a film in a film festival. One of the locations where filming is planned is close to the Egyptian Theatre. The theatre has long been used as a screening room during the Sundance Film Festival.

The Wednesday shooting is scheduled from noon until midnight on Main Street, Paap said.

Park City occasionally is picked as the backdrop for films or movies, with the television shows “Entourage” and “Everwood” being among those that shot episodes in Park City. More recently, filmmakers shot a scene in Park City for a movie starring hip hop artist 50 Cent and actor Danny Trejo. The filming occurred in January during Sundance.

Paap said he is unaware of “One Tree Hill” shooting in Park City before.
