StarNews: “One Tree Hill” Emmy submissions – Sophia Bush for best actress

Locally filmed drama series “One Tree Hill” has never been nominated for an Emmy. That’s probably not going to change.

If anything, I thought its best chance was last year in some of the technical categories for its 1940s-themed episode. Still, being on the Emmy ballot can be a way for networks and publicists to show support for their clients, and some shows put every cast member up for contention. Others, like I assume “OTH” does, leave it to the actors (or their publicists) to submit.

This year, Sophia Bush is the lone nominee from “One Tree Hill,” which has filmed in Wilmington since 2003. She listed on the ballot in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category.

Most interesting, though, is Warner Bros.’ campaign this year for its CW shows, including “One Tree Hill.” It’s nice to see the studio saying its proud of all of its shows, not just the high-brow ones.

FYI, the two episodes “One Tree Hill” is submitting as proof it deserves an award this year are “I And Love And You” and “Last Day of Our Acquaintance.”
