Although “The Vampire Diaries” and “One Tree Hill” may not be crossing over in any shape or form in the near future, that doesn’t mean that we are without some co-mingling among the show’s principal stars.
For evidence of that, all you have to do is see some of the new pictures from Just Jared of Paul Wesley taking in a movie on December 26 along with Torrey DeVitto. The two have a relationship that by and large is rather low-key, nearly to the point that you almost forget they are together until they step out yet again.
Both shows are currently on hiatus due to the holiday season, but will each return with some new installments beginning in 2011.

EXCLUSIVE: After almost a decade in Hollywood as the head of UPN and its successor broadcast network, CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff may be going back to New York. I hear Ostroff would be leaving the CW at the end of her contract in June to relocate to New York with her kids. While the decision is not final, sources indicate that Ostroff is leaning heavily in that direction and is expected to make it official early next year.
Ostroff is the longest-running sitting broadcast entertainment president. She had been based in New York as SVP and EVP of Lifetime until CBS Corp. boss Leslie Moonves tapped her to run UPN at the beginning of 2002. She relocated to Los Angeles with her kids and her husband Mark. But Mark's job has kept him bi-coastal, and for the past year, he has been based in New York full-time, commuting to Los Angeles every Friday night and flying back every Monday morning. That has put a strain on the family, forcing the two parents to consider a move. In anticipation of the possible relocation, I hear the Ostroff kids have already interviewed with private schools in New York. Dawn Ostroff has been a key member of Moonves' senior executive team, and I hear they both would love for her to stay on but the truth is she won't be able to do her current job of running the CW out of New York.
For the time being, Ostroff is fully focused on the CW's midseason and development. She will soon be ordering pilots for fall, will oversee the launch of the network's midseason reality series Shedding for the Wedding and the relocation of Hellcats to Tuesday. She is also expected to be at the CW's upfront presentation in May. Ostroff would be leaving the CW in a good place. The network, which has been going through some growing pains since its 2006 launch, has hit its stride this year. Season-to-date, the net, co-owned by CBS and Warner Bros., is up 7% in total viewers, the biggest gain for any English-language broadcaster. It is only one of two networks in positive territory year-to-year, along with CBS (up 3%), with new drama Nikita broadening its audience. Additionally, the new online sales initiative introduced by the CW at this year's upfront market has been deemed a success and may be adopted by other nets. It involves the CW selling "convergence packages," combining the traditional TV airings of its shows as well as online streaming with full commercial loads. "We're no longer looking at digital pennies, we have achieved digital dollars," Ostroff said at the network's TCA session in July, noting also that, as the first broadcast network born in the digital age, the CW was the first to adopt Twitter and Facebook in its campaigns.
Also at that TCA session, Ostroff ruminated on her longevity in face of the constant revolving door that the top broadcast executive jobs are. "I always say these jobs are rented chairs," Ostroff said in the context of ABC's Steve McPherson's departure. "I've been sitting here for 9 years, having seen a lot of people come and go."

Gotta love those mornings where you have no idea why there’s raw meat in your purse. (Um, not that we’d know what that’s like, Mom.) When “One Tree Hill” returns on January 25th, it’s time for Brooke (Sophia Bush) to have her Bachelorette party – and those of us who knew Brooke in high school know that she throws a hell of a party.
The ladies of “One Tree Hill” begin their evening respectably, spa-ready in their bathrobes with a touch of champagne on hand, but by the time the night is over, Brooke’s engagement ring is missing… as is her dignity, when she (and her mother-in-law!) bump into Dave Navarro.

#49 - “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” One Tree Hill
A hurricane rocked the town as Brooke and Jamie’s lives were in danger and the psychotic Katie returned to kill Quinn. It was the kind of heightened tension and over-the-top insanity that this show does so well.
Examiner: Music Artist Laura Izibor On Her Passion For Music & Making The Move from Ireland To ’Tree Hill’!
The International press called her “The Soul of Ireland”; and with her powerful vocals and lyrics full of passion and spirit, I would call Laura Izibor ‘the soul of music’. Her voice is a pure echo of immense talent. And her songwriting has led to lyrics delivering messages straight to the soul. This year Irish-borm Izibor was finally able to deliver that powerful music off her debut album ‘Let The Truth Be Told’ to the U.S while diving into the world of acting with a recurring role on the CW hit series One Tree Hill; where she plays Erin, an Irish music artist who is slowly coming out of her shell and making her debut into the music world. All the way from Ireland, Izibor recently spoke with me about making the transition from singing to acting, the great time she had on One Tree Hill, and why working in Wilmington, NC reminded her of growing up in Ireland! Izibor also talked about the special experience she had singing with one of her idols’ Nina Simone for the soundtrack of the highly-proclaimed film For Colored Girls. Izibor comes across as humble a person as she is talented, and with that combination one can predict people will be appreciating Laura Izibor and her music for many, many years to come.

Michaela McManus, who plays Vampire Diaries sexy (though lethal) werewolf Jules, is taking a tropical turn: she has just been cast in a February episode of CBS’s Hawaii Five-0! Michaela will play a tough district attorney named Kathleen Roberts who will work alongside Grace Park’s character, Kono.
She has also shot several more episodes of Vampire Diaries, which returns to the CW with new episodes beginning January 27.
Some of you may have seen the striking 27-year-old in her recurring role as Lindsey on One Tree Hill, followed by another recurring role on Law & Order: SVU as A.D.A. Kim Greylek from 2008-2009. Nice to see with some hard work one can move from A.D.A to full-fledged D.A. in a matter of seasons.

Before One Tree Hill’s Julian and Brooke walk down the aisle, the CW series will have an episode that star Austin Nichols says is inspired by the 2009 hit comedy The Hangover.
“The girls have a big bachelorette party and they all wake up and don’t remember anything,” Nichols tells TVGuide.com. “The whole episode is them the next day piecing it together, all the different locations and figuring out what they did.”
One Tree Hill: Brooke, you’ve come a long way, baby
Unfortunately for Julian, the ladies get to have all the fun.
“There was no bachelor party for Julian. I got to say it hurts my feeling a little bit,” Nichols jokes.

Quinton Aaron, who portrayed destined NFL star Michael Oher in the 2009 sports biopic The Blind Side, has been recruited by The CW’s One Tree Hill for a guest-starring role, Movieline has learned exclusively. In this season’s 14th episode, Aaron will play Tommy, a student in Nathan’s (James Lafferty) business class who is singled out by Professor Kellerman (Peter Reigert) for being an athlete. As such, Tommy goes on to form a bond with former hoops star Nathan.
Right now, Aaron, 26, is slated to appear in just the one episode, which will air sometime during February sweeps.

As Nathan Scott
One Tree Hill’s Brooke Davis has come a long way.
Remember the selfish and morally challenged cheerleader of yesteryear? It’s hard to believe that was the same person who nearly drowned trying to save someone’s life on Tuesday’s stormy midseason finale.
Titled “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” the episode featured a dangerous rain storm and car accident that put Brooke and Jamie thisclose to death on the infamous Tree Hill bridge (Remember when Nathan saved Rachel and Cooper in Season 3 in the same place?) After saving three people’s lives, the fashion maven chose to stay with Jamie, who was pinned behind his seatbelt, and then selflessly pleaded with her fiancé, Julian, to save the little boy first as the levee broke and water flooded the car.

Haley – Hey, if I wasn’t pregnant, we could have sex in the back seat.
Haley – Can I help you?
Nathan – Yeah, you can help me by getting back in the car, you pregnant goof.
Nathan – This is so A Christmas Story. Get back in the car, Ralphie.
Jamie – I knew how to spell entrepreneur. I said “ue” instead of “eu”. But I knew it was “eu”.
Brooke – Did you get nervous?
Jamie – No, I missed it on purpose.
Brooke - Why?
Jamie - Because I wanted Madison to win the spelling bee.
Brooke – So whatt’s the first thing you’re going to do when you get out of here?
Jamie – Tell my mom and dad I love them.
Brooke – I’m sorry about earlier.
Julian – No, it’s okay. It’s my fault. I’m going to check that sexy leg of yours.
Julian – Hey, Best Man, you wanna help me find that crow bar?
Jamie – I wish!
Katie - It’s empty, you stupid bit…
Quinn – I know, it’s okay, you’ll pass out soon. But unlike me, you won’t lay there for 12 hours. Only a psycho would let you do that.
Quinn – I’m your storm.

The radio in a car says a storm is coming in and everyone should stay in. Jamie is at the spelling bee. Nathan and Haley are in the audience. He has to spell entrepreneur but he gets it wrong. A little girl Madison wins. Jamie tells her she did great. Nathan gives Jamie a fake talking to and Jamie guesses Grandpa Dan? Nathan says Clay couldn’t get home because of the storm. Haley comes up and congratulates him. He wants to go with Mrs. Lauren but she says the storm is too bad. She says ride home with Chuck or go home with them and go see Quinn. He chooses Chuck. Brooke and Julian are arguing about why they live in Tree Hill. He says her work isn’t holding her there anymore and more opportunities would be in LA. She thinks his mom is prodding him to do it and he prodded her to lose the company for his own benefit. Julian says they could spend some time apart for their careers. She gets mad and leaves. Quinn loses Clay on a phone call. Katie shows up outside their house.
Nathan and Haley are driving in the rain and Haley is worried about Jamie. Nathan says he likes the rain, they’ve had some interesting moments in the rain. Haley gets a flat tire and has to pull over but has no signal. Nathan has to get out and change the tire. Quinn’s surveillance camera loses signal in the storm. Her car alarm goes off and she goes outside to stop in. Quinn notices a leak in their kitchen and gets a bowl out to catch the water and takes her tea in the other room. It’s actually Katie’s hair dripping from upstairs. Julian calls Brooke and says he’s sorry and there is flooding and the levy might break. She says she can barely see the road. Julian says he’ll come get her. She’s coming up on a bridge and he loses her. She screams and Chuck is in the middle of the road. He has blood on his head. There’s been an accident and a car is flipped on the bridge.
Brooke tells Chuck to get in her car. Brooke finds Jamie and he’s stuck. She gets madison out. Lauren is knocked out and bleeding. She puts Madison in her car and tells her to call 911. She gets in the car to help Jamie but she can’t get him out. Haley tells Nathan she still doesn’t have signal while he changes the tire. The water is still dripping at Quinn’s. It’s a mix of blood. Quinn goes to look at it and sees it’s not just water. She takes a knife and apple to another room. Katie is gone from where she was. Brooke wakes up Lauren who starts to panic. Brooke tells her she’s going to get help. Chuck is losing consciousness. Quinn gets in bed and leaves Clay a message on her phone. Brooke gets stuff out of the trunk and takes it to the car. She puts a blanket over her and gets her to crawl out. Madison gets out and says it’s Chuck, he’s going to sleep. He says he can’t stay awake. Lauren says she’ll take the kids to the hospital. Brooke is going to stay and get Jamie out. She starts getting him out and then a live electrical cord gets close to the car.
Haley gets out to help Nathan and her umbrella blows away. He goes to look for it. Katie walks in to wake up Quinn and she finds pillows under the bed. Katie pulls Quinn out from under the bed. Quinn stabs her. Katie pulls her gun out. She says dejavu. Katie empties her gun and throws the bullets out the window. Knives it is. Quinn runs outside and starts to leave in her car and a tree is down in her driveway stopping her. Quinn runs back inside and Katie goes after her. Brooke continues to get Jamie out. She says it’s going to work. He shows him his ribbon. Jamie asks where she was going. She said just driving. She tells him she got mad because she got stubborn and stupid. He says he’s not stupid. She tells Jamie to spell some words for her. Katie laughs at Quinn and says you really think I won’t find you? Quinn is hiding. Jamie says he missed the word on purpose so Madison would win. Brooke says she likes Madison and she asked about him. He says the first thing he’s going to do is tell his mom and dad he loves them. She’s going to tell Julian. Julian shows up. She says she’s ok. A car comes from the other way and he waves at them to stop. The car crashes into Jamie’s car and they fall over the bridge.
The car is filling up but the car is on the side and it’s not sinking. Julian helps them get out. Julian says he’s got to get Brooke out first so she can get help. He has to get Jamie out because he’s going to be his best man. Brooke’s leg is stuck under the steering wheel. Jamie hears a loud sound. The levy has broken and water starts rushing in. Katie finds Quinn and they fight. Katie knocks Quinn out. Julian tries to get Brooke out with a crow bar. Brooke tells Julian to help Jamie. “He’s just a boy.” Julian pulls the seat out and takes Jamie to the shore. Katie continues to beat up on Quinn, trying to choke her. Quinn puts her finger in her knife wound. Quinn runs in the storm. Katie says she’ll be her storm. Quinn runs back after her, taking her down over the balcony into the pool outside. Jamie watches from the bridge. Julian gets back in the car for Brooke. He can’t find the crow bar. He says this isn’t happening, we’re going to stay in Tree Hill and be together. The water overtakes Brooke. Julian gives her some air. Katie comes up out of the water but Quinn is lying in the middle of the pool. Julian keeps trying to get Brooke out but she appears to drown, still stuck.
Jamie yells from the bridge. Julian finally comes up with Brooke. He carries her to the shore but she seems out of it.
Katie walks out of the pool. Quinn is still ok, she’s faking her death in the pool. The pool cover is holding her up.
Julian tries to resuscitate Brooke.
Katie makes tea inside. Quinn comes in from outside. Katie spots her. Quinn goes to the right . Katie grabs a knife. Quinn finds the gun, puts one bullet in. Katie comes in and says it’s empty. Quinn shoots until the bullet kills Katie.
Nathan and Haley pull up on Jamie. He says Brooke is dead. Haley takes him to the car and Nathan goes to help with Julian. Julian starts crying over Brooke and then Brooke’s hand moves. He starts again. She coughs up water.
Katie is not dead, she is gasping for breath and tells Quinn. Quinn tells her she’ll pass out soon. She won’t lay there for 12 hours, she says, only a psycho would let you do that. Quinn goes to change the song on the record player and cries.
Brooke gets loaded into an ambulance, Julian goes with her.
Katie gets loaded into the ambulance. Quinn tells her she’s her storm and goes back inside.
Naley and Jamie are in bed together sleeping.
Brooke sleeps on Julian’s lap.
Quinn sleeps on the couch and then gets up and goes to the door, opens it and leaves it open.

Earlier in the day, the One Tree Hill stars dropped by PIX11 Morning News to chat a bit about their CW show and also their latest project, the compilation CD Gasoline Rainbows.
One hundred percent of the proceeds of the album, which was released last week on iTunes, will go to Global Green to help those affected by the Gulf oil spill.
“If there’s anything we need to learn from what happened in the Gulf it’s that our reliance on dirty energy is risking not only human beings, but every living being on the planet,” Sophia told Zap2it.
