Ology: ‘Pair Of Kings’ Actress Kelsey Chow Talks Season 2 And Her ‘One Tree Hill’ Roots
Chatting with Kelsey Chow is like chatting with your best friend and gushing over the things you love. The super sweet, 20-year-old actress is currently starring on Disney XD’s hit, Pair of Kings, where she plays Mikayla, daughter to the royal adviser and friend to island kings Brady and Boomer. She was nice enough to talk with me about working with Mitchell and Doc, shooting in front of a live audience, her favorite TV shows, and of course, her memorable role on One Tree Hill. I even got her to tell us which couple she ships! Check out our interview below!
Tune into Pair of Kings Monday nights at 8 p.m. on Disney XD.
Yeah, I’m actually a huge One Tree Hill fan. So it feels like I’ve known you forever.
Oh no way! That’s awesome. That show has the best fans, really, and extremely dedicated. It’s impressive and amazing.
Yeah, Mikayla and Gigi are definitely different! Was that a fun change for you?
Oh yeah, it was so much fun. You know I started the show when I was thirteen, playing this nerdy, geeky character and the whole experience was surreal to me. I had just started my freshman year in high school in South Carolina. So I would just commute up to Wilmington and shoot. So it was crazy! When I was 17, Gigi made her turn [laughs]. And I remember reading through the script and being like, “What is Mark [Schwahn] having me do?” Like it was crazy. But no, it was a blast.
I didn’t realize you were so young!
Yeah! I think I age backwards or something, because I felt older on One Tree Hill than I do now (laughs).
Haha. Now I HAVE to ask you — who is your favorite couple on OTH? That’s always a big debate.
Oh goodness, yeah I know and everyone’s got their own name for them. I would definitely say in the beginning it was “Naley.” And I guess I have to be a massive Gigi fan and I don’t know, did you like Lucas with Brooke or Peyton?

'One Tree Hill': Richard Burgi to play Brooke's father, Barbara Alyn Woods returns
Big news, One Tree Hill fans. We just got back from visiting the Wilmington, NC set of "One Tree Hill," where a particularly coy Sophia Bush teased, "You're going to meet someone who's very relevant to Brooke's life who you've wanted to see for 8 years."
After 8 years on the show, Sophia's gotten good at keeping her secrets. Fortunately for you all, we are not so good. Zap2it has confirmed that Richard Burgi will play Brooke's wealthy absentee dad, who will make his first appearance on screen after being absent from the biggest moments in Brooke's life. He's a recurring guest, so we can expect him to stick around a bit. It's about time!
A TV veteran, Burgi recently starred as Karl on "Desperate Housewives," and is also known for his work on "The Sentinel" and "Days of Our Lives." We can't wait to see the fireworks when Daddy Davis returns to Tree Hill -- not just with Brooke, but with her spitfire mother, Victoria (Daphne Zuniga).
Speaking of mama drama, we're thrilled to confirm that former series regular Barbara Alyn Woods will be back in her role as Deb, Nathan's mom, for one final episode. (Not that we need to confirm it, as Sophia just tweeted a pic from set!) Deb hasn't always been the most typically maternal person, but the circumstances surrounding her return prove that she can still be "Mom" when the situation demands it.
The final season of OTH doesn't have an official air date yet, so stay tuned to Zap2it in the meantime for all your Tree Hill needs. We'll have scoop from our set visit, including more from Sophia, Austin Nichols, Bethany Joy Galeotti, and Chad Michael Murray.

TVLine: One Tree Hill Exclusive: 3 More Familiar Faces Return In Season 9
The upcoming ninth and final season of One Tree Hill is bubbling over with returning fan faves like Tyler Hilton, Paul Johansson and Chad Michael Murray, and TVLine has learned exclusively that three more are on the way — though this trio may not be so welcome.
Allison Munn will turn up again as Lauren, Jamie’s onetime teacher who has appeared on and off since 2009, and she’s bringing along an unlikely beau: Quinn’s ex-hubby, David (played by Scott Holroyd). But that’s not the strangest part: We’re hearing that when they head back to town, Lauren will actually be carrying his child! Guess Skills (Antwon Tanner) is officially out of the picture…?
We’re not entirely sure how this random twosome came to be, but it wouldn’t be the first time David hooked up with a Tree Hill hottie: Remember his rendezvous with the other James sister, Taylor (Lindsey McKeon)? And here’s a fun fact: Munn and Holroyd are actually married in real life!

Hollywood Life: Nanny Deb and Brooke’s dad!
Plus, Sophia Bush weighs in on Brooke’s dad’s highly-anticipated arrival! What kind of drama do you think he’ll bring to Tree Hill?
There are a few more familiar faces returning for One Tree Hill‘s ninth, and final, season — plus a few new ones! Warner Bros. has confirmed that, not only will Barbara Alyn Woods reprise her role as Nathan’s (James Lafferty) pill-popping cougar mom Deb for one episode, but Richard Burgi will also recur as Brooke’s (Sophia Bush) oft-discussed-but-never-seen father!
Of course, these might not be the happiest family reunions — and they certainly won’t come without some drama. As Sophia teased during HollywoodLife.com‘s recent trip to One Tree Hill’s Wilmington, N.C., set:
“You’re going to meet someone who’s very relevant to Brooke’s life who you’ve wanted to see for eight years.”
This is obviously huge news for longtime fans of the series, especially those with a soft spot for Brooke… and her daddy issues. Seriously, if you thought Brooke and Victoria (Daphne Zuniga) had a rocky relationship as mother and daughter, just wait until dear ol’ daddy enters the picture.

Bethany Joy Galeotti: “20 questions with Lisa Goldstein”
1 Were you named after anyone?
My first name starts with the letter L in honor of my Mom’s Uncle Louis. I never met him, but she and her cousins still rave about how amazing he was.
2 Do you like your own handwriting?
When I’m taking my time, yes. When I’m rushing (which is usually the case) absolutely not!
3 What would your superpower be if you could choose one?
I would definitely choose to pause time. When I get in confrontational or stressful situations it takes me a little while to figure out how I feel about whatever is going on. I can be kind of frustrating. After the fact, I’m always finding myself saying “I should have said THAT!”. I’d be a great person to have around after an emergency. : )
4 Are you an Optimist or Pessimist?
Optimist to a fault. I always see the good in people before I see the bad.
5 What do you collect?
Nothing. I hate clutter.

Eyewitness News 9: One Tree Hill Films Episode in Kinston
“The Kinston airport was slammed packed with camera crews, extras, and fans hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite celebrities.
“I wanted to meet Chad Michael Murray and all the others stars of One Tree Hill,” said one fan.
The hit show, normally filmed in Wilmington, was shooting a scene for the new season.
“Kinston airport happen to fit all the requirements we needed. We pretty much have open access to the airport itself, it’s not very busy, and it’s a great opportunity and we took advantage of it,” said Chris Allen, Locations Assistant for Warner Brothers Television for the production of One Tree Hill.

Because apparently, you can mistakenly attempt suicide!

Variety: Dunton embraces ‘Plastic Jesus’
Former OTH star Hilarie Burton (Peyton) will have a role in this...
After winning an audience award at Sundance for teen thriller “To.get.her,” director Erica Dunton is turning her attention to “Plastic Jesus,” an indie written by Bryan Bertino and starring “Twilight Saga” moppet Mackenzie Foy and Chandler Canterbury.
Production is under way in North Carolina on the coming-of-age story in the vein of “Stand By Me,” which follows three small-town kids who encounter mystery, loss and hope. Foy and Canterbury play the two young leads, while Paul Schneider and Hilarie Burton (“One Tree Hill”) will play their parents.
Indie fixture Joshua Leonard (“Higher Ground”) co-stars alongside Bryce Hurless.
Bertino, whose last produced script was the 2008 sleeper hit “The Strangers,” produces with Adrienne Biddle under their Unbroken Pictures banner along with Heather Rae (“Frozen River”) and Stephanie Caleb, while Global Creative’s Christopher Rockwell will co-produce.
Rae recently produced another coming-of-age indie, Leah Meyerhoff’s “Unicorns,” a Sundance Lab finalist and IFP grant winner that stars Natalia Dyer (“The Healer”).

NextMovie: Q&A: ‘The Lion King’ Lioness Moira Kelly
Moira Kelly, OTH Alumni – Karen, had played the voice of Adult Nala in the Lion King and two sequels.
Moira Kelly has a warm, distinctive voice that “The Lion King” fans will instantly recognize as the voice of adult Nala. Kelly returned to voice Nala in two straight-to-video sequels and is excited to experience “The Lion King” in 3D with her own children in theaters before the highest-grossing hand-drawn animated film in history makes its Blu-ray debut.
Over the years, Kelly has made an impression in various TV and movie roles, such as figure skater Kate Moseley in the fan-favorite romantic comedy “The Cutting Edge.” We sat down with Simba’s main lioness and had a candid, “hakuna matata” chat with her about her own lion-like qualities, “The Lion King”‘s enduring impact on her family, her prowess on ice skates and why David Lynch showed her dead things in his refrigerator.
After three films, what special connection do you have with Nala? For me, it’s just being able to take part in a Disney animation. Having grown up with them, it’s so nice to now know that I have this connection and, throughout the years, it will always be. My children and my children’s children will watch “The Lion King” and know that I was a part of it.
Has anyone ever heard your voice and recognized you from “The Lion King?”No one has pegged me as Nala, but I do get recognized by my voice. People will say, “Your voice sounds so familiar. Were you in that ice skating movie?” I don’t know what it is, but I suppose there’s something about my voice that stays with people.
You have two children of your own. Describe your lioness qualities in real life.I’m very protective and—I’ll put it this way—I’ve been called “Mean Mommy” by my son a number of times. As my mother once told me, “If you’re not called Mean Mommy a few times by your children, you’re not doing your job right.” I’m a survivalist and will do whatever it takes for my kids. I wouldn’t say I make high demands on them as far as what I would want them to be in life as much as I want them to be responsible people. I think that’s at the core of Nala when she tells Simba that as much as he wants to run away from things, he has to rise up and take responsibility.
When you watch “The Lion King” with your children, do they know that mommy is Nala?Yes. They are seven and nine now. When they were younger, they were a little scared of some of the action scenes, but now they’re very excited that mommy is in a Disney movie.

E!: Spoiler Chat: Get Scoop on Grey’s Anatomy, Glee, Nikita and More!
Jason: When will Lucas, Chad Michael Murray, come back to OTH, and where is Hilarie Burton? Will she come back!!?
Lucas comes back in episode 7 and only interacts with Haley and Jamie, and he takes Haley’s new daughter Lydia back home with him. Peyton is mentioned, but as far as I know there’s no reason given as to why she’s not with him. And no word yet on her returning.
Randall: Why isn’t James Lafferty in all the episodes of One Tree Hill? How will his disappearance be explained?
I’m told James didn’t want to do all the episodes, and Nathan is taking an unintentional European vacation. This is less like a Chevy Chase movie and more like Savannah Smiles.
