One Tree Hill season 9 sneak peek: Body bags, beat downs and burning buildings

---

At the very end of “An Evening with One Tree Hill,” a special celebration the show put on for fans at the University of North Carolina Wilmington tonight, those fans got the first look at “One Tree Hill’s” ninth season.

Shantel Van Santen (Quinn) introduced what Mark Schwahn later explained was the opening moments of the season’s first episode. Here’s a quick recap:

SPOILERS. DON’T KEEP READING IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW! BUT YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO

+

+

+

As Nathan (James Lafferty) narrates, the episode opens on the image of a burning building. Who’s house is it? It’s unclear, at least to me. It kind of look’s like the dive Dan worked at. And speaking of… Next we see Dan (Paul Johansson) in a car loading a gun. He’s talking with the person in the passenger seat about killing someone. That person is Chris Keller (Tyler Hilton).

Cut to a shot of Chase (Stephen Colletti) in the backseat of a police car. Has he been arrested? What for? He doesn’t look happy.

Next up are Clay (Rob Buckley) and Quinn, who are arguing something fierce. Clay yells, “It’s not that I don’t need you here. It’s that I don’t want you here!” Ouch.

We then see Brooke (Sophia Bush) trashing what appears to be Karen’s Cafe (UPDATE: but fans tell me it’s a rival cafe that opens up this season), knocking over chairs and throwing stuff on the ground. She’s mad? Distraught? Over what? Maybe it has something to do with a scene we see later, in which Julian (Austin Nichols) is getting the snot beat out of him.

But the scene that had all the fans in the audience gasping involved Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti), slowly walking through a morgue, approaching a body covered by a white sheet. A cornoner (or somebody) lifts up a sheet so she can see the person lying there. And when she does, Haley just loses it, her face full of anguish. Who could it be? Nathan? Dan?

Are all of these moments taken from different moments in the season? Will we be flashing back to see what leads up to these moments? For those answers, we have to stay tuned. But if there were any doubts that “One Tree Hill” could still keep fans engaged in season nine, this trailer did a pretty good job of dismissing them.

What do you think? Who do you think is under the sheet? Who is Dan trying to kill or protect? Let the wild speculation commence!

StarNews: Burning Boat Festival returns to “One Tree Hill”

---

If you saw flames leaping from the foot of Market Street in Wilmington this week, don’t worry. It was all part of filming of “One Tree Hill’s” final season.

The show’s set designers parked a large pirate ship at Riverfront Park so they could shoot across the river from the “river court” at Battleship Park.

The shoot marks the return of the Burning Boat Festival to Tree Hill. Fans first saw the fictional celebration way back in season one. (Episode 3, specifically.) So it’s a nice way to bring the show full circle. And also a cool way to show off the Wilmington riverfront a few final times.

Our photographers captured a shot of the pre-burned ship surrounded by festival decorations.

'One Tree Hill' Season 9 exclusive: James Lafferty returns for series finale

---

"One Tree Hill" has had plenty of comings and goings over the years -- as is to be expected for a show that lasts nine seasons. This year, series veteran James Lafferty's role in the show was reduced, leaving it up in the air as to whether he'd appear in the series finale.

Zap2it can now exclusively report that Lafferty has reached a deal with the studio and will be returning to North Carolina to be part of the final episode of the series.

YAY! Ahem.

Due to Lafferty's reduced role this year, his scenes for the entire season were pre-written. He was able to shoot all of his scenes in a four-week block over the summer to free up time for other projects and commitments.

At that time, he did not film any scenes for the series finale, leaving us hanging as to whether or not we would even see Nathan in the last episode of the series. As long-time fans of the show, we're thrilled (and, frankly, relieved) that Nathan, Haley, Brooke, and the rest of the gang will be together one last time before we say goodbye. The finale will shoot in early November.

Though his character will be MIA for a portion of the season, Nathan remains an integral part of the storyline, and we're hearing that fans of Nathan and Haley's relationship can look forward to plenty of shared scenes between Lafferty and Bethany Joy Galeotti.

"One Tree Hill" is expected to return to The CW in January, 2012 for an emotional 13-episode final season.

---

Samantha in Long Island, N.Y.: I know the new season is still far away, but could you tell me anything about One Tree Hill? Particularly Clay and Quinn?

You’re in luck. We’re feeling generous today. When we were on set recently, Shantel VanSanten told us that Clay (Robert Buckley) and her character ending up together is definitely the endgame. “I think that we have the strength to make it through these challenges that we’re presented, but you never know where life leads you,” she says. “I think obviously the end goal that we both have in mind is that we don’t see our life ending without each other. We see it being forever but you just never know. I hope for our characters that we have a happy ending, whatever that might be.” Put a ring on it, Clay!

You know him as the hunky star of “One Tree Hill” and “How to Make It in America”—but if you knew Bryan Greenberg in high school, you’d have known him as a class-clown-turned-persona-non-grata due to his prankish public announcements. And in this clip from Bryan’s upcoming appearance on “When I Was 17″ (airing Saturday at 11 a.m.) he reminisces about the time that a PSA went SNAFU.

WYCD Radio: Jana Kramer New Music Spotlight 10/21

---

Each weekday, I will be featuring a “New Music Spotlight” on one of your favorite country artists! Take my poll and rate the song from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, meaning you love, love love it!

Today’s spotlight is from new artist Jana Kramer and her debut single “Why Ya Wanna”.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Jana the other night when her record label brought her back to Detroit to introduce her to WYCD. A more down to earth, beautiful, and more talented girl you’d never want to meet. Before signing with her record label, she had a recurring role as Alex on the TV show One Tree Hill, a character who aspired to be a singer. This isn’t just a girl from a TV show who wants to be a singer, Jana’s the real deal, and once you hear her for yourself, you’ll soon discover this hometown girl from Rochester, Michigan has got the goods.

GQ: Peyton’s House

---

Practically every day, cars stop in front of our house and people get out to take pictures of it, and of us—me and my wife and daughter—if we happen to be outside. Or they’ll take one of Tony, who cuts half the neighborhood’s grass. Tony loves it. He poses for them, with his rake and lawn bags, grinning, one arm thrown wide as if to say, “All this, my friends.” I’ve told him several times to start charging, but he won’t even hear it. He does it, he says, because it makes him feel famous. Usually it’s only one or two cars. Other times it’s eight or nine in a day. It depends what time of year it is, and what’s happening on the Internet. Once there was an event of some kind in town, and we got more than twenty. I go for long stretches when I forget it’s even happening. I really don’t see them, since I don’t leave the house that much, and they’re always quiet, they never make trouble. But a month ago my new neighbor, Nicholas, who just moved in next door, came over to introduce himself. He’s a tall thin guy in his fifties, glasses and a white beard. Very nice, very sociable. Before he left, he said, “Can I ask you something? Have you noticed that people are always taking pictures of your house?”

“Yeah,” I said—pressing play on my spiel—”it’s silly, I know, but our house used to be on TV, not anymore, those people are fans.… Isn’t that funny?”

“I mean, it is constant,” he said.

“I know!” I said. “Hope it doesn’t bother you. Tell me if it ever gets annoying.”

“No, no, I don’t mind,” he said. “They’re always polite. They almost seem embarrassed.”

“Well, tell me if that changes,” I said.

“Okay,” he said. “I just can’t believe how many there are.”

Nicholas and I have now had some version of that conversation three times, one for each week he’s lived next door. Every time, I’ve wanted to tell him it’s going to end, except I don’t know if it will. It may increase.

TVLine: Blind Item: Departing Show Poised to Kill Off Major Character Before Big Finish

---

A wildly popular show is plotting a killer twist before it takes its final bow this spring.

According to multiple sources, the series in question — which, barring an 11th hour stay of execution, is in its last season — is moving forward with plans to whack one of its original characters just prior to the series finale.

And I’m told the exit will be a dramatic one, impacting multiple characters and storylines.

What’s the show? Who’s the victim? That’s for me to know and you to speculate about in the comments section.

But first, a few additional clues…

* It’s an hour-long series that bears the title The Closer. Or Desperate Housewives. Or One Tree Hill. Or Chuck.

* The character in question will die a hero/heroine.

* The death will definitely stick.

Ready. Set. Ruminate! Oh, and keep tabs on my Twitter feed — @MichaelAusiello — for additional hints in the coming days, weeks and months.

Ology: Exclusive: Is Chad Michael Murray Returning To ‘One Tree Hill’ For More Than One Episode?

---

We all know that Chad Michael Murray is returning for an episode of One Tree Hill’s ninth and final season. Hell, we spent weeks freaking out about it! But, a little birdie (ahem, me) heard that he may be back for more than one episode. Yes. For real.

While at Chad’s NYC book signing tonight (for his graphic novel Everlast — get it!) a fan yelled, “Come back to One Tree Hill, Chad!” Chad nicely smiled and replied, “I did! We’ve shot one episode so far.”

That’s when I stopped in my tracks. Wait. A. F*cking. Second. “So far?” I asked (loudly). Oops. No one else seemed to catch it! WHAT?!? Was this just a slip of the tongue or will Chad be back for more?!? “We’ll see,” he said with an innocent grin.

EW: Netflix seals deal with CW

---

CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Television Group have signed a four-year deal with Netflix that will allow its customers to instantly watch more than 700 hours of previous seasons of scripted series that currently air on The CW, including episodes of Ringer, Hart of Dixie, The Secret Circle, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, 90210, Supernatural, Nikita, and One Tree Hill.

“This is a forward-thinking agreement … that opens a new door for The CW programming to expand its audience reach through the terrific Netflix service, and creates a brand-new window for CBS and Warner Bros. to be paid for the content we supply the network,” said Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of the CBS Corporation, in a statement.

“We have long admired the CW’s ability to connect so passionately and directly with a very important and difficult to reach demographic,” added Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix. “This is programming for the on-demand generation and we hope this agreement deepens the relationships viewers already have with these powerful entertainment brands.”

Previous seasons of The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and Nikita will be available to watch instantly on Oct. 15, with previous seasons of Supernatural and 90210 beginning in January 2012. Episodes of all scripted series airing on The CW this broadcast season will premiere for Netflix members next fall.

'One Tree Hill' Season 9 scoop: Where will your fave characters be five years from now?

---

oth-full-cast-gallery.jpg
"One Tree Hill" fans have been waiting not-so-patiently for the January 2012 debut of the long-running drama's final season -- and we've got a little taste to quench your thirst!

By now we know that the Tree Hill gang are no strangers to time-jumps. There's a reason you rarely see a calendar or even a date on a gravestone in this town -- nobody knows what year it is!

Now, sources tell Zap2it that in the final episode of the series, we'll see yet another time jump. Expect to see Brooke, Haley, and the rest of the crew about five years into the future. Casting calls have gone out for the twins, Jude and Davis, at around age six, and Lydia at around age seven. Look forward to seeing a teenage Jamie, too! (We're guessing he's going to grow up to look an awful lot like his Uncle Lucas.)

Longtime WB fans will remember that the "Dawson's Creek" series finale also featured a five-year time jump. Drop us a line in the comments section below and let us know where you hope to see your favorite "One Tree Hill" characters five years from now, before we say goodbye.

Examiner: Lisa Goldstein’s Team True Beauty Story: “Don’t be afraid of being unique”

---

Growing up as an only child Lisa Goldstein said she was sometimes bullied for being unique and what elementary-aged kids considered ‘different’. But as the One Tree Hill actress recently shared with Team True Beauty, she wouldn’t ever change being herself because it’s all about being ‘Loud and Proud’ of who you are and not keeping yourself in a box to please others. During our interview Goldstein strongly emphasized on the importance of everyone embracing their differences and taking what makes them unique and doing something great with it!

Goldstein also shares an important lesson on how we can all pull out positives from our insecurities and discusses what she believes true beauty really means. Those kids in school may have teased her for being ‘different’, but speaking to Goldstein you quickly see it’s what made her different that makes her special and gives her that true beauty. I’m so proud to have Lisa Goldstein be a part of Team True Beauty, to share her valuable messages and to say that we should all take her wise advice and be loud and proud of who we are!

They have invited the whole cast as well!
Sophia, Rob, Austin, Shantel.
So, expect to hear more conformations

As of right now, all I know is that Joy is going.
They have asked everyone on the cast about it.
I know Shantel wants to go, so she might be going as well.
Sophia and Austin, I have no idea at this moment in time.

Music and What Not: Tyler Hilton Interview(Part 2)

---

I had the chance to sit down with singer-songwriter Tyler Hilton, before his show at Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta this past week, to discuss his latest album in the works and his role in this season’s One Tree Hill. The concert was absolutely incredible and even featured a performance with One Tree Hill’s, Michael May (“Chuck”)! For the latest news on Tyler, check out his site:

http://tylerhiltonofficial.ning.com/

How have your shows been lately? You have mostly been doing “one-offs,” correct?

Hilton: Yeah, I have been doing just “one-offs” really. This show (Atlanta) is the only one this weekend, but I have been doing shows every weekend in September. I am trying to do most every weekend this fall, because I’m recording the last season of One Tree Hill in North Carolina. So I am just doing things that I can fly/drive to really quick.

Speaking of One Tree Hill, are you able to work in some of your new music into the show?

Hilton: Yeah, they are being super cool about it and letting me play on the show, because I have this record coming out in January. I never know what’s going to happen, until I get the new script but there have been three or four times now where I’ve gotten it and they have said “Chris Keller’s playing a song in the scene.”

I absolutely love the music that they pick for the show…

Hilton: They do pick some good music… Oh and note to self, the director of the show Mark Schwann always directs the show like a music video and I keep forgetting to ask him to direct a music video for me. I have to write that down.

StarNews: Former “One Tree Hill” actor brings the crazy in “American Horror Story”

---

FX’s new “American Horror Story” is the craziest, trippiest, most disturbing series debuting this fall.Ostensibly, the show is about a couple Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott who relocate to Los Angeles with their teenage daughter to rebuild their life after he cheats and she miscarries. But the house they move into has mysterious ties to past murders, something supernatural is going on in the basement, a kleptomaniac neighbor Jessica Lange, gloriously chewing all the scenery she can find keeps walking in unannounced and the housekeeper looks like a conservative matron in her 50s Frances Conroy or a sexy strumpet in her 20s Alexandra Breckenridge depending on who’s looking at her. Throw in a mysterious burn victim Denis O’Hare, an emotionally disturbed therapy patient Evan Peters and somebody walking around in head-to-toe latex, and it’s easy to see how “Horror Story” defies description. The pilot episode, premiering at 10 p.m. Wednesday on FX, crams so much story into its hour that it feels like it covers as much ground as some shows do in a whole season, though always posing more questions than it answers. For Peters, who plays a high school student being treated by McDermott’s therapist character, the constantly roiling plot is part of the “Horror Story” appeal.
