PAUL TEAL BRINGS BIG APPLE CREDENTIALS BACK HOME FOR THALIAN BENEFIT

Paul Teal grew up on stage in Wilmington. But it took moving to New York for Teal to get cast in "One Tree Hill," the filmed-in-Wilmington CW drama on which Teal appeared Paul Tealseven times last season as the sleazy actor Josh Avery.

"As soon as I moved to New York, I got (it)," Teal said via phone from the Big Apple. "I guess being a New York actor sounds a lot better."

Teal will return to Wilmington on Friday to perform with official USO entertainers The Liberty Bells during the SS Thalia Fantasy Cruise, a benefit for Thalian Hall. The cruise-themed benefit features a luau-style buffet, steel drum music by the Sea Pans, for-fun casino gaming, a live auction and a tribute to the event's honorary captain, former Wilmington City Councilman Frank Conlon, a longtime executive director of the Battleship North Carolina.

I met Paul Teal in the airport after spending a long weekend in North Carolina. He was so sweet! It was great meeting him!
