Last-minute show alert: Michael Grubbs of ‘One Tree Hill’ plays live with Wakey!Wakey! tonight

MG

Just found out about this one so it must be a last-minute add. It’s a good last-minute add, though.

Michael Grubbs, who plays the bartender “Grubbs” on filmed-in-Wilmington show “One Tree Hill,” plays a gig with his Brooklyn-based band Wakey!Wakey! tonight (Monday, March 1) at The Soapbox in downtown Wilmington. Doors open at 8 p.m., and tickets are $7.

Click here to read a profile of Grubbs I wrote in January and to listen his excellent song “Twenty-Two.”

Wakey!Wakey!’s new album, “Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said the Last Time I Saw You” (Family Records/Timber St.), is filled with catchy pop hooks, stirring choruses and harmonies and Grubbs’ own compelling lyrics about love and breakups.

Should be a great show. Sorry for the late notice, but sometimes you gotta make last-minute plans to see the good stuff.
