A few months ago, I asked you rabid “One Tree Hill” fans to help me narrow down the show’s 120+ episodes into a “must-see” list that could help newbies catch up on the show and serve as a highlight reel of all the show embodies.

In all, nearly a hundred episodes got at least one vote, showing how wide your love of this show is. A few episodes, though, rose to the top. Season finales and premieres were popular, and the most votes went to the third season episode “With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept.” That episode, featuring the shooting of Uncle Keith, is a clear favorite among fans and really was a turning point for the series.

In all, season 3 got the most love. Season 2 got the least. Here are the 12 “essential” episodes, in chronological order, as voted by fans. (SPOILER ALERT! IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THROUGH SEASON SIX, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK).
