'One Tree Hill' to be canceled next week? Robert Buckley and cast await word on season 8 pick-up

Robert Buckley, who plays Clay Evans on the CW drama One Tree Hill, says he isn't sure he will have a job next week as he and the rest of the cast await word on whether the show, now in its seventh season, will be renewed for 2011.

"We won't know until Monday, I think," Buckley said. "I'm waiting to find out if I have a job. I've been going ... to and fro to the unemployment office. So if I get the call on Monday, Daddy's going on the dole." Check out the interview!

Buckley made his comments to On The Red Carpet's Rachel Smith at a recent launch party of Capcom's 'Lost Planet 2' video game at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

More than 22,000 fans have signed an online petition urging the CW to renew One Tree Hill for an eighth season. Buckley said he and some of the cast members "started a pretty helpful support group" as they await word on the fate of the show, which debuted in 2003.

He said One Tree Hill's seventh season finale, set to air on May 17, would feature "stalkers, sex, maybe lifelong commitments, maybe people losing their lives."
