StarNews: Gov. Perdue signs film bill on ‘One Tree Hill’ set


Several cast and crew members of “One Tree Hill” and government officials gathered at EUE/Screen Gems Studios Thursday morning to witness Governor Beverly Perdue sign Executive Order 28, which reauthorizes the North Carolina Film Council.

The council acts as an advisory panel to the governor in matters of the film industry. It is made up of 25 people appointed by the governor who come from various backgrounds including film, business and government.

Before signing the order, Gov. Perdue spoke about her commitment to the state’s film industry and the $92 million it is estimated to bring into the economy.

The press conference was held on a set used by “One Tree Hill” as the home of characters Nathan and Haley.
