Brooke is at Lucas’ where they are painting the door brown. She says the girl behind the brown door just doesn’t have the same ring to it. Julian comes in and says there must be a lot of memories there. She says they are in Lucas’ room. He asks about wardrobe choices for scene 23, a big love scene. She shows him two choices and he says he wants to see them on before he makes a decision. Brooke says Haley and Quinn organized a party and they could go together. He says he has too much to do and he was a geek in high school anyway.
Quinn is making breakfast at Clay’s. Kylie is locked out and said she’s there for her morning laps. Quinn ignores her. Kylie goes to leave and Quinn pours her smoothie on her from the deck.
Mouth wakes up to find Junk and Fergie on the computer at cantwaittofindadate.com. They want him to get back on the horse and ask him to describe the perfect woman.
Clay and Nathan are stopped at a gas station to get coffee. He says they drove all night to get back to Tree Hill. Clay says he missed an exit and drove a few hours out of the way. On the way out, he blows all the tires. Nathan says there was a reason he had to be home this morning.
Haley comes down and says hope everyone is ready for me. No one is downstairs and Jamie asks for pancackes. Haley says they forgot my birthday.
Clay tells Nathan the car has to be towed. Nathan says he has to get back. Clay realizes his phone is in the car as the car is towed away.
Alex asks about Brooke and the dance. She says she wants him to go. He thinks she’s being polite. Alex says she’s a Brulian fan.
Haley tells Junk and Fergie are coming over to babysit Jamie during the dance. Quinn comes in and says it’s the big day. It’s the day they rescue the arts program. She gets to fulfill her dream of crimping her hair. She says Nathan and Clay might be late. Haley is once again disappointed no one remembered her birthday.
Brooke and Alexander look over her dress she made for the dance. He says he’ll go as friends with her. He says it’ll be a favor…he’ll be a chick magnet. She agrees to go as friends.
Haley says she has to go run errands and Jamie says Quinn is pimping her hair (HA). Haley says to tell Quinn not to leave until Junk and Fergie get home. Jamie tells Quinn Haley said she’s going to pick them up and Quinn can leave whenever she wants. Jamie is happy to have the house to himself.
Mouth, Junk and Fergie found a match. It’s a girl in Tree Hill looking for a nice guy. Mouth tells them to delete his profile. Junk and Fergie request a date.
Clay tells Nathan he found them a ride home…in a truck full of pigs.
Jamie calls out for someone and no one is home.
Clay says he’s conflicted because he loves bacon and pork. Nathan says to change the subject. They had a full night planned. They run into traffic. They look at a map and Nathan knows how to get there. They start hiking to catch a ride.
Haley shows up at the dance. She tells Quinn someone wrote slut on her car. She thanks Grubbs for being the bartender. He says he was a band geek and it’s nice to come back as a cool bartender…as a moderately cool bartender…it’s nice to come back as a bartender.
Kylie shows up at Mouth’s. She says she’s there for their date. She asks him to go to the dance. He asks why she needs a date…she’s not a dude right? She flashes them.
Jamie makes sundaes and does his hair, makes a huge pancake, runs around the house, tries on Nathan’s shoes, plays in the decorations. And then realizes it’s her birthday.
Brooke works on her dress.
Julian practices a pep talk at Lucas’. Alex walks in and says she’ll clap if no one else does. He says he’s nervous. She was nervous but reminded herself of Julia Roberts. His hero is John Hughes. She says he should go to the dance with her but it’s not date-ish.
Brooke is ready and says “not bad”. Alexander shows up outside with a car…”Brooke Davis, stunning in any decade.”
Quinn and Haley announce Cheap Trick.
Junk and Fergie say Mouth knows. Haley texts Junk and Fergie and asks how it’s going.
Brooke and Alexander show up. She introduces Haley and Alexander. Haley goes to the bar and Grubbs cards her and then gives her a shot.
The house is a wreck at Jamie’s. Someone tries to get in the front door and scares Jamie. It’s Junk and Fergie. Jamie walks up to the door with a light saber. He hears Junk say “I swear I’m gonna kill that kid”
Cheap Trick continue to perform. Mouth and Kylie stand in the back. Mouth says she’s like Millie on steroids. Kylie finds Quinn. They argue. She apologizes and asks for a truce. Kylie doesn’t accept and tells her Clay said he doesn’t believe in love.
Nathan and Clay wonder through the woods. They argue. Nathan says you’d know how it was if you were married. Clay takes offense and goes the other way. Nathan follows him.
Julian and Alex arrive and both freak out because they were both geeks. Julian freaks out when he sees Alexander. Brooke is upset when she sees Alex.
Junk and Fergie try to get in the back but Jamie attacks them with a paintball game. He figures out who it is and apologizes.
Haley and Brooke walk through the hall. Brooke opens her old locker and finds pictures of a couple. Haley asks about her and Julian. She says he made it clear she’s his priority and she’s not going to be the girl with the guy in love with someone else again. Kylie shows up and says she needs a place to rest and sits in front of her locker. Her hair gets caught in the locker.
Alexander and Julian talk. He says he’s a nice guy. He says if he ever hurts her he’ll hunt him down.
Quinn finds Kylie at the locker and she asks for help. Kylie apologizes for earlier. Quinn sits down with her. Kylie says Clay said he didn’t believe in love and she comes along and it really meant he didn’t believe in love with her. Guys see her as a shag. Kylie pulls scissors out of her purse. She was going to slash her tires. Quinn cuts her free.
Clay and Nathan make it to the road. Clay says it’d be nice to give him the benefit instead of always the doubt. Clay tells him he used to be married to Sarah. She died. Nathan asks why he didn’t know. He was his agent. He should have told him a long time ago because he gets how hard it is with Haley. A car comes down the road and Clay explains Nathan’s situation. The lady recognizes Nathan and says she can take him back.
Nathan returns in the car to get Clay. He says he bought her car. They drive home.
Brooke goes to see Julian. She said she had a thing for guys in shop class. She tells him she wasn’t trying to make him jealous. He wasn’t feeling good. She says if she’s learned anything, nothing boosts his confidence like a kiss from the cheerleader. She kisses him and says he’ll do great tomorrow. He says it’s not going to be easy…us being friends. She says it’s better than not being in each other’s lives at all.
Cheap Trick plays.
Alexander introduces himself to Alex and asks where there dates are. She says don’t fall in love with Brooke, Brulian will end up together.
Haley shows up and looks across the parking lot to find Nathan at the car. She asks whose it is and he says it’s hers, Happy Birthday, Hales. They kiss.
Mouth and Kylie talk in the parking lot. She says they can shag. He says they can’t. His ex-girlfriend is his roommate but they can get pancakes. She says his profile was right that he’s a nice guy. Kylie watches Quinn and Clay hug.
Clay asks Quinn to show him around the school.
Jamie is asleep on the couch with the house decorated and a cake and card waiting. Nathan puts Jamie to sleep. He sleepily says Happy Birthday, Momma.
Haley and Nathan sit around the cake and kiss after Haley says she has everything she wants.
Julian gives his talk and everyone claps. They start filming.
